Living by Grace

Dedicated to providing guidance in daily living through the power of God's grace as experienced in our union with Christ.

Beginning the Day Directed by God

"The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.  Isaiah 50:4

Isaiah 50:4-9 is considered a servant- passage prophecy of Jesus. This fits with Jesus’ frequent statement that he does only what He sees or hears from the Father. Consider the statement of Isaiah 50:4 in connection with Mark 10:45.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

In placing those two passages together, we can understand that among things the Father might have told Jesus each day was a message of ministries to others He was to have that day.

The Holy Spirit dwells in all believers just as He did in Jesus. The fifth command leading the believer to the life of grace recorded in Romans 6:11-13 is that we make our bodies available to God for Him to use them to do His works of righteousness. Many of the righteous works He does through us bring blessings to others. His desire is to live again on earth through our bodies (Romans 6:13c).

It is not uncommon for a person who is living under grace to begin a new day with guidance from the Father of one or more things He desires to do through the person that day.

A believer who walks in the life of grace is thrilled to receive these directives from the Father. He is ready to yield his body to the Father for the Father to guide and enable him to do the works of righteousness.
