Living by Grace

Dedicated to providing guidance in daily living through the power of God's grace as experienced in our union with Christ.

It Is Simple: Read and Study the Bible

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.  Isaiah 55:11

In this passage, God is comparing His word to the rain and snow. Verse 10 reads, “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater ….”

As the moisture from rain and snow provides seed and food, God’s word will bring blessing to those who spend time reading and studying it. Verse 12 says that the individual whose mind and heart is saturated with scripture “…will go out in joy and be led forth in peace ….”

One of the great tragedies of the Christian movement in these days is ignorance of God’s word. Perhaps it should be said that one of the tragedies of this day is the state of indifference to the reading and study of God’s word.

Just suppose a husband and father, a wife and a mother, a son or daughter would spend some time each day in the wonderful word of God. That one person could possibly create an atmosphere of joy and peace in the entire family.

John 14:26 says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

Receive the filling of the Holy Spirit by experiencing your oneness with Christ, and He will motivate you to read the Bible and will teach you as you read.

Go ahead! Permit yourself to experience joy and peace throughout the day—each day.
