Living by Grace

Dedicated to providing guidance in daily living through the power of God's grace as experienced in our union with Christ.

Love One Another

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.  Romans 13:8

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Galatians 5:14 says, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

First Corinthians 13:4-7 explains how one’s love to his neighbor works out in day-to-day experiences.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Study the passage in light of your daily encounters with others. It is easy to see how the presence of divine love in us results in peaceful relationships.

We must understand that we cannot generate this quality of love by our own choice and determination. We must continue to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. “The fruit of the Spirit is love” (Galatians 5:22).

We receive the filling of the Spirit by receiving the life of grace as explained in Romans 6:3-14.
